Reflective Insulating Fabrics
AFM’s Silver-Lining™ fabric offers an ultra-lightweight, reflective insulation solution to apparel, outdoor gear, bedding, footwear and hand wear manufacturers in an easy-to-cut-and-sew form. Designers have the choice of either waterproof/windproof, or breathable/wind-resistant.
The fabric’s ultra-thin, IR-reflective insulation layer is encapsulated between two protective layers of soft polyolefin film laminated to an ultra-light non-woven polypropylene. The fabric’s insulation technology has been recognized by the Space Foundation’s Certified SPACE Technology* seal. Silver-Lining™ fabrics are being incorporated as inner linings in a growing number of innovative products, from parka and vest linings to sleeping bags and footwear, and as stand-alone ultra-light blankets and bedding.

Products and Solutions AFM’s products and solutions share a common technology, based on the reflective insulation material developed by NASA for the US space program. AFM is a Life Time Member of the Space Foundation and has been granted an Exclusive in Category for its application of Reflective Insulation Technology for consumer applications. The company was one of the first to have its products granted Certified SPACE Technology status.
